My winter project is coming to an end because my body shop guy finally painted my plinth. After installing, the winter project will offically be done. Future things to do, Third brake lignt, manufactuure a reciever hitch, and keeping an eye on the temp gauge this summer and potentially upgrading the rad. Oh yeah, what's a plinth?
 
Hmmm - a plinth is a support, stand, base, etc. What color is it painted - and why'd you ask the guy to paint it?

But more important - what's a receiver hitch?

As I have seen the word "plinth" used, it refers to the bases under some of the lamp assemblies that bolt to our LBCs. (Not to be confused with a gasket). The plinths on my GT6 included molded, thick rubber parts that did not get painted. I'm not sure what a plinth would represent on a TR2/3.

The "receiver hitch" would be for towing... would it not?
 
A plinth on a BE is the part that attaches to the rear and the license plate light is attached to. Same color as the car.

The shift suround in the car. Same color as the car.

The front license plate holder if you do not have a bumper, same color as the car.

That's all folks.

And Jack, your car has one of the nicest plinths I've seen.
 
On a slotted type grille for the MG the plinth is the center part on which the shield shaped MG logo is mounted.

Then again, a plinth may be what a plitheth geth when she kitheth a toad /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
 
My buddy who has the bodyshop where the car was repainted doesn't always get things done in a straight line. When things get done, they are well done, but as is this case, not in a straight line. The license plate standoff (plinth) hadn't gotten painted. I have 2.000 miles on the engine rebuild and just got it back. I am thinking of building a hitch for a trailer that attaches to the bumber supports and the spring supports.
 
so let me get this straight, the Plinth of the Escutcheons was actually supported by the grille as he acted without license to support the heraldic Morris crest, right? (I never could remember history - or is this part of the new Harry Potter book?)

Did you know that it is impossible (I think) to install a plinth by yourself. Screws from the inside of the boot attach the plinth to the body. That and a couple other little projects made for a nice quiet Sat afternoon. So, my winter project and all the continuations are complete, July 21.
 
Sure, tape it on with some blue masking tape and do a bit of cave diveing.

The real question is: What is difficult in a VW but impossible in a Sprite? And no I will not provide an answer.
