How far zoomed in were you? The background looks a little noisy, is that caused by ISO or zoom?
 
Likely a bit of both. It's a tight crop, somewhat less than half the original frame. The ISO was high as well. Screenshot of the .NEF file with the details. Notice there's a "buddy budgie" to the lower left of the piling!
