What would be a fair price??

I have a 1966 Jaguar E-Type, 2+2, auto, red with black interior, with 11,400 original miles.. The car is in GREAT condition, with the exception of a few areas of paint that are webbing a little. She runs like a champ, and starts right up every time. This car is on its first set of tires..

Now I love the car, but am looking to buy a home, and this would definately help with the down payment. Can anyone here give me a good idea of a good asking price??

this may be one of those cars better run thru the Barrett/Jackson or Kruse classic car auctions. If it is as nice as you say it is and with the low mileage, it should be worth some big bucks. You could probably find recent sale prices on their websites

Has it been appraised? Find a good appraiser that specializes in classic cars and that will give an idea of what the value of the car is (not necessarily what it will sell for though...)

Also, if you are close to a major city track down a copy of Hemmings Motor News or even look at the website www.hemmings.com. Hemmings is the "bible" of the classic car industry, with many listings of Jaguars, give it a browse and this should help out.

Best of luck, now if only I had $$$...

Mark:

Run over to "The Stable" in Gladstone (fairly near you), and see what they're getting for similar cars. It's a neat place to stop in, even just for the fun of it.

If you can wait, you could also bring it to Britfest (the Moss Motors show on May 3rd in Succassuna, NJ) and see what offers you get.
