What to use for muffler replacement?

I had what looked like a pretty standard Midget 1500 exhaust that had rusted out badly. I cut it off & put in a muffler just to be street legal. It's FUGLY but it works.

Now I want to put something better under there.
I'm looking at "monza dual tip exhaust" units, I think they look nice. There's one on Ebay right now used for a good deal (dibs).

Is there something else I should look at? Originality isn't an issue here, just something good that will do the job and if it sounds good and looks good that would be nice too.

Whoo Hoooo. Might as well run a pipe from eacy cyl, LOL

Prob would look nice.

Ok, I admit that "Prob would look nice" is a big factor on that one. Major big factor. I think it would look great coming out under the chrome bumper I will receive later this week!

But - if there's other options I would like to hear about them. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Did everybody notice I said "dibs"?

Just wondering... of course if they get up to 75% the cost of new I'll just buy new.

Guess it depends on what your goal is...looks, performance, sound, originality. My preference is originality!

I like the idea of originality, it's just that Frank's never going to be that. So being forarmed with that knowledge, it seems Frank is going to be 'modified'. With that in mind, these monza pipes would look & sound pretty cool - remember it's got a Nissan A15 motor...

Heh - just saw your post Barry - Thanks~!!!

Magna Flow 4"x14" oval..2" i/o centered. 3" tip. Sounds great looks pretty good. Needs to be cleaned up..

cool, where's a good place to get them?

(of course I'll check Ebay...)

In your area I would take your car to Fat Stanley and see what he can come up with.

And I use a Harley Davidson flow-thru chrome unit /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif (Needs a little clean-up too /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif !)...(can be had free/cheap from Harley guys up-grading to fancy pipes!!)

PS: Sounds Great on a Spridget!!

Looks a lot like a rocket assist exhaust, hehe.

Jato bottle Doc.

Mike, that's cool - some of those came up when I searched ebay for 'midget exhaust'.
I wondered why, until now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Thanks Mike,

What is the inlet OD on these?
How loud would my 1500 be feeding into one?

Hold on I will run out and measure... be right back!
