MGB-GT What to do with the BGT?

Kinda like a funkana....only the "gimmick" aspect (golf balls, tea cups, blind-folded parking, etc) has been removed and you are timed as you travel through a course laid out with traffic cones. Penalties for knocking down cones or going "off-course".

Entry fees are generally very reasonable...tires, brakes, and clutch *could* take a beating. The risk of hitting anything hard is minimal...the risk of a roll over is extremely minimal....addiction to auto-X is the only detrimental side effect to man or beast.

Check with your local Sports Car Club or SCCA group for events near you.

Tires is what they eat up. However, the wife can compete as well. Usually a ladies class.

Pre inspections can be rough, tierods, wheel bearings and steering are gone over 'vigorously', basically have to be new or at least very well maintained.
Rick, do they have these still at Rantoul?

Last thought, wire wheels are heavy, and there are not many tire choices in 14 inch sizes so you may want to change to a wider and lighter set of wheels.
Go racing, live your dream!

15" replica Minilyte knock-offs.

If you can fit them over the brakes 13inch might be good; they would lower your gearing and centre of gravity and have less rotational mass! They would look goofy though.
Race tires are available in 13 inch because Minis use them, and Formula Mazda used to before they changed from the 13b to the Renesis engine.

Yes...the CCSCC still has monthly autocrosses as well as rallyes, as far as I know! They vary location....but Rantoul is the primary one.

I say restore it... if everything else is solid... you can have a whole new interior for about $2000 or so.
