Sounds like the most likely explanation. But you have to admit it is a strange optical illusion. I had thought that IF (note I said IF) it was a non-natural structure (i.e., man made) that it might have been something that was related to some research done at the Polish research station "AB Dobrowolski Research Station" which, coincidentally is located only about 6-7 miles from this "anomaly." Per Wikipedia, the Polish had done research there in the field of "gravimetry," or the study of gravitational fields.
