AUD # relate to the type of carbs fitted.
You need to determine that to know which rebuild kit you need.
Simply look in the Moss Catalog (page 22) for rebuild kits and you will see the AUD and numbers required.
The rebuild kits are not interchangable.
1963 to 1967 AUD52-135
1968 AUD265
1969 to 1970 AUD326-405
1971 AUD465

RoMo...problem is her AUD# doesn't match

Jaybird!,Where are "U".??Keoke

She mus be fixin DA-Hubby sum vittles.

I'm thinking, if the ID tag is missing, can't you use the letters stamped in the base of the needle as a big clue to determine which ones they are?
In Jaybirds case, the carbs were purchased by themselves, and are going on a later "B" that came with a single ZS. So My thought would be to get the carbs IDed as to what year they were from and rebuild them as that.

Problem is she's already shipped them to the rebuilder...if he's any good, he'll solve it but I think he wanted her to get the kits....that bothers me a bit.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif Yep Banjo, you are correct. But in this case you build the carbs to the application not to what they was.---Keoke-- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

NO you can not use the needle as the sole identifier, because that same needle can have multiple applications. For example: A Mini, 1962-68 uses an EB needle and has an AUC 976 carb. Contrastingly,a Mini Automatic, 1969 has an AUD 250 Carb, but also uses the EB needle.

Ummm you don't want to know where I was last night. But it involved 6 2/3 bottles of wine. And a nap on my living room floor after the company (5 people, 2 wine drinkers) left.

Don't ask how I feel.

Carbs are half way between here and NY now. So we're going to have to wait until they arrive and try to figure this out I suppose.

Well JB, if you give me the engine size,Model of your car the model Year, and transmission type I will post the correct carb spects to rebuild yours to.---Keoke

75 MGB Roadster, engine size? Hmmm, 1800cc right? I have a 4 speed transmission now. Somewhere soon down the road I'm putting this OD in her though.

Thanks Kokie!

Well JB, My old SU applications list cuts off at 1974. However, it implies that 1972 was the initiation of the HIF4 Carb into the MGB line. So I will give you the Specs on the last application I have for the HS4 carb in my list.[Car Model= MGB {USA} MK 11],[ Engine size= 1798cc],--[Model Year- 1971]-[Carb Type= AUD465 and location Front & Rear],[Carb Needle is AAL]. Sorry I could not get you spot on for your model car.---Fwiw---Keoke

Thanks Kokie. I don't know what any of that means, but I'll pass it along to the rebuilder. I'm hopeful when he gets the carbs he'll find the number right away and just realize I'm an idiot and didn't know what I was looking for!!!
