What rebuild kit?

I have HS4s. I found these #'s on the carbs:

On the plastic 'lid' to the dashpot #AUC8103
On this little metal thingy (not exactly a tag) #AUD3347

I can't find anything at Moss that corelates to these numbers. All the AUD# are only 3 digits.

AUD's are 3-digit numbers...I've called with the ones you gave me & am getting nowhere

Well, I admit to knowing less about SUs than you do (haven't owned a set in 30 years or so), but I did find the following with a quick search...

AUC8103 is the part number for a dashpot for an HS2

AUD3347 is the part number for the choke cam lever on a right hand HS4

Not that this helps you at all with your question.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi JB, all HS4 carb specifications are Identified as: "AUD"xxx They may have a suffix letter following the number. Most of the dampers carry the AUC 8103 Number on the cap it is not unique.---Fwiw---Keoke??

I'm an idiot.

I mailed the carbs off today.

Any TRUE gearhead would have made certain the number corresponded with a kit BEFORE sending the carbs off.

So. When the carbs get there, if ya could find that blasted number and call me or let me know? And then I'll get the number to you Tony, and we're back on track.

~thumps self upside head~

No Sweat JB, the proper kit can be ascertained by the year of the car they are going to be used on. Fortunately, there are not that many variations.---Keoke

So it doesn't matter what year/application the carbs are, just that they're going on a '66?

Can I stop thumping myself upside the head yet?

See, she doesn't know what year car they came from - &, Janel, I'm not having much luck figuring it out...looks like you gotta call Joe!

wishing to learn here, but arent the differnces in the kits just in the jets?

mark

She doesn't need to call me....I'll just talk her into a DCOE! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

heheee... You said DCOE. I'd agree!

Musta been Joe *Curto* Tony wuz referrin' to. Tony ~likes~ SU's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Joe Curto's not rebuilding them.

'k... t'was simply speculation.

Joe Curto is expensive. Double the other 2 people. Sure he's good, but how much better than good can he be? Plus I understand there's a bit of a wait for him.

Was a bit of a standoff here at the homestead. Chuck felt obligated to Jim Taylor in Bartlesville OK, because John Mangles uses him and called Jim telling him that Chuck was sending Binabox's SUs. I wanted to send them to someone else whose work I have total faith in. So Emma's is going my way and Binabox's is going olwhatshisname's way. And I cannot wait for the big 'I told you so' I get to lay on dahubby.

So what you're sayin' is this is not necessarily an exercise in maintaining domestic tranquility here?

hmmm..... intrigueing.

But Joe Curto can tell you which kit you need....I can't!

mehheh... I guess I need to go sit inna corner now...

Yeah JB, If the engine uses HS4 Carbs the car year and model will define the proper kit. Stay a long way away from them DCOE things they a pain .---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

HI Mark, Generally that is true .However, sometimes the linkages are changed from one model year to another and the dampers can be of slightly different designs as well as the piston springs to name a few variations.---Fwiw---Keoke
