Hi guys and gals,
Project is progressing well. Recap: Bought this BE at end of Nov. from PO who had it for 12 1/2 years. He disassembled it and had the body stripped, repaired and painted. I've been bying parts like crazy and trying to improve on the PO's progress. So far, no big surprises!
Even though he bought rebuilt shocks, 2 of the 4 have leaked. Vendor replaced at 1/2 price!
When the rear axle would not allow the rebound straps to fit and it looked like the driveshaft would not line up, I just had the older brother, who carries more weight than I, get in the car. A little shaking, and the springs settled nicely, and the bolts for the straps went RIGHT IN.
This is the set of SUs I got with the 1275. Anyone know what model? No tags, but the body was stamped with the number 113. It is supplied with a vacuum port. I would like to convert the front carb to one with two inlets so I can clean up the fuel lines. Anyone know where I could get just one fuel bowl top? Thanks for the help, cheers.
