I am sorry to be so vague in the description but I don't know what this control is for on my 1972 TR6.
There is a stalk on the steering column opposite the turn signal that I don't know it's function.
It seems to operate just like the turn signal having a middle position, an up position and a down position.
I can't seem to find a diagram that includes it.
Thanks for the help and info

I think it's the overdrive switch.

Interesting! I noticed your car doesn't have overdrive. Maybe the transmission was swapped out at some point? At any rate, the floor-mounted dimmer switch was supposedly for cars up to '72 (I think). Do you have the light switch on the dash, left side of the steering wheel (# 55)?

AH! Just noticed that yours isn't a '73 - thought it was. Then it is the headlamp switch.
