What is this hole for?

This is the engine from my BJ7 which I finally installed today after about 5 years. Can anyone tell me what goes in the threaded hole that the arrow points to?

I use it for a 'P' clip that retains the oil temperature cable...

Thanks guys. I could not find anything in my reference materials that attached to the block in that location. Nice to know it's not anything significant.

It's behind/under the starter.

Keep in mind that as with all of BMC's engines the Healey 6 was also used in other applications.

No way! It would cost an extra 0.39 pence to install the hole and the BMC beancounters wouldn't allow that.
