My car was in boxes when I got it, but I am finally almost done getting everything back together. I need some help. there is a tab that looks like something screws into right about where the transmission courtesy light should go (I have a 69). Anyone know what this is for? I have included a pic in hopes someone can shed a little light on what this is for.Thank for any help.
Kevin

Hummm I really don't know but could it be a ground connection for the light? Obviously the metal tab would have to have a wire lead on it going to ground. Just a guess.

Is it where the rear tunnel cover meets the main front cover? If it is I thinks is to secure the rear cover.

IIRC the ground has a bullet connector
My guess Keith is close
Actually I think it is where the shaft cover connects to the rear area
Edit
Change my mind on the prop cover idea
Unless whoever did the last resto didn't use it

Keven I just pulled back the carpet on my car to see if this is what you are talking about. This tab is behind the seats where the trans tunnel ends. If you look close you will see the two parking brake cables. I did not use the bracket to mount the rear tunnel, instead I used the screws to mount the snaps to hold the carpet down. I thought the light was mounted between the seats in the front.

Thanks, Keith. I would have thought the light would be more forward also, but I checked other 69 TR6's at car shows, and it does appear to go at the very end of the tunnel. I guess when I put the cover on, I must have mistakingly put it underneath. I will have to look tomorrow to see how much work it will be to correct it.
