What is it about cats and boxes?

Opened this delivery and as soon as the contents were removed, Ethel claimed it. Grab shot, not sharp. As soon as I sat on the floor to get a better shot she left the box and started hugging my foot. Weird!

Oddly, Lysa has never been interested with bags or boxes. Her comfort zone is crawling into a jacket. Usually when I'm still in it.

Down here, Ethel has decidedly claimed the box as her exclusive territory, now growls if Lucy gets near it. Lucy got some time with the paper packing in there and tore it to shreds while Ethel wasn't looking... Funny stuff.

We still have an old ratty box in the bedroom and sometimes Blue prefers it over the fancy cat climbing contraption we bought at Costco.

Greg's Lysa seems to be the exception where cats 'n bags/boxes are concerned. All our "kids" were box-centric. The avatar cat, Merlyn, in particular. He'd about exhaust himself to stuff his pudgy butt into a 12-pack soft drink box.
