TR2/3/3A what is a good way to lube up a tach cable

This Morning when I started my car, the tack cable was just screaming a new sound. I figured I would pull the cable out and lube it somehow, but either I do not remember correctly or the cable does not come out. So what is a good way to lube up a tach cable?

You want to use graphite powder for that
A wet lubricant will attract all sorts of muck in the future

Spraying graphite powder (aerosol) into both ends of the cable worked for me. Stretch out the cable so it's straight, not curved.

It may have unspiraled if it won't easily pull out.
