What I saw today

very pretty, I love that look. I also love the tt - had no idea such a car even existed till I saw a magazine article on it recently - comparing air cooled cars: Citroen, NSU, Beetle, Skoda and a couple others - it was far and away the fastest.
 
The TT air cooled engines made it back into a motorcycle eventually...The Munch Mammut (Mammoth)! The one attached (maybe) is a 1968 model with the 1200 cc engine and Webers.
Eventually there was a turbo 1400cc model!

NSU also managed to impress an obscure Japanese motorcycle maker with their string of racing wins in the early 50s, this resulted in the Honda model J in 1953, this model ran until 1957 (pictured). The family resemblance is pretty clear!

That Hillman Super Minx looks just like the one my mother had in 1983...

The Ro80 is still an elegant shape, isn't it? Stands up well among today's bloated bubbles. A common "fix" in the 70s was to use the Britsh Ford V4 found in Corsairs and Transits, instead of the rotary. Credit to Mazda for persevering with the engine, and commiserations to NSU for the development their car could and should have had, if funds had allowed.
