Well I was driving to an Army airfield and notice an auto repair place that has been there for years was being torn down. What interested me was an MG sitting under a tree. So being the curious person I stopped and looked around. Not a soul there. So I kept my hands in my pocket and had a look see. Well around back there was 5 MG's B's and Midgets in various states of disrepair. bunch of Wire rims, about 4 engines, and trannys, doors, hoods, windows & frames etc. and .... Dramatic pause a steel bugeye bonnet sitting in the shed out of the weather, all painted with primer. I have called the local real estate people to find out who owns the property and if they just want the "Junk" hehe hauled off hehehehe. So we will see what happens. It looks like they are tearing the building down with all the parts inside!!!! AAAAAhhhhhh

My question, since I do not have a bugeye *sniff sniff* what frame would accept a buge eye bonnet?
Will have to go back and get pictures.

You can put that Bugeye bonnet on any Spridget frame if you are willing to do just a little bit of low key modification.

Way to go on the find!

I hope you remember who your friends are when you are wallowing around in all those free parts! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Lots of that stuff will fit on my trailer!

Already consider who might need things, that is why I am posting it. Luck is on my side, my saftey officer that always needs my help has known the guy for years and is freinds with him. He is going to call him tonight and buzz me back if he says take what you want ))))))) So I know what I will be doing tommarow if the call is in my favor!.

No problem, I'll cut the bugeye bonnet into 6" strips so it is easier to mail then you can weld it back together again on your end /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif jk

Would love to have a bugeye *sigh*

LOL Might need help! A lot to haul away. More than welcome to come down if the answer is take what you want. I know I can't grab it all. Would love to try though!

Think my wife might complain about hosting a MG refuge/sanctuary in the back yard!

Unfortunantly I don't have a back shed (yet) have the stakes pound in the ground for a 48' wide by 40' deep shed. Have to break ground and set the form for the concrete. will be awhile before it is operational. But when it is... Look out! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Too bad you are so far away.

I would tell her:

1. That their is a fortune to make parting them out you will split it with her.

2. It is lawn art that is sure to appreciate.

3. They followed you home.

4. That there must have been a LBC storm yesterday (low bodyshell circling) and they happened to drop there.

5. Or most importantly, the truth. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

you are storing them for some friends /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I hope all goes well.

LOL love the list /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif, actually just got off the phone with her and she said and I quote "That wouldn't be any problem, you can put it all at the back of the property. You could get up early tommarow to make multiple trips"

What a woman! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif hun

Ok I have the blessing, just need the phone call to be a GO!

If the answer is yes tonight I have no problems, depends on what he says, might have stipulations to what I can take and can't, have to wait and see.
I will post the anwser when I get it, hopefully tonight!
So stay tuned and I will give you my cell number if it is a go.

Well I got the call and the owner of the property (age 65) said tell me to "Never go onto that property again I have the cops watching it". Apparently in the last few weeks he has had alot stolen, and I can understand why, there are no signs of no tresspassing and the place looks like a shambles. So after a lenghty discussion with my friend told me alot abot the guy. The property is leased, he is out of the business and he sells things for pennies on the dollar. So if I approch him with an apology for tresspassing and the reason why I did it, then there might be a chance I could swing a deal and purchase the lot. So I asked my friend to give him my number and why I would like to talk to him.

So it is a bust. Soory for getting your hopes up Jack. I will definantly persue this and see what can be had. Because honestly that is the most MG part I have seen in one place.

1950 sq feet should be a good size for a wood/metal/paint working area ya think? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
