Seeing the foods you guys have mentioned I can remember having many different types of food growing up, including all of the above (not counting the cannibalism thing, gotta draw th' line someplace!). Had friends from many different backgrounds, usually with first or second gen American born parents. The area's steel mills attracted 'em from everyplace. Often got invited to have a meal with them, learned early I was fairly much omnivorous! Try anything once. Never found anything I'd refuse a second time, back then. The ethnic staples were always favorites; "peasant fare", the foods that kept people going. Potato kugel, latke, potato pancakes, pierogie, strudle, scrapple, collard greens...
