What do you think of this one?

It's listed on ebay again after a deal fell through. I don't know what to make of the replaced metal, the floor plans definitely aren't original and I'm not sure what is going on with the metal on the bottom of the t-tunnel. I also noticed the interior door panels are incorrect. It's located near boston not to far from me. Last time it was on ebay it went for $6K. Sure would be fun to finish and drive next summer.

Not bad at all, engine colors wrong, doors are fine. Did not see inside panels but............

I thought the same thing. It could put me in the drivers seat by next summer. Just a bunch of little fixes, rather than having to repair an entire tub like I now. I just can't tell the quality of the paint or the repair job on the tub from those photos. Maybe I'll give the guy a call today. I wonder if there is anyone in S Boston who could check it out for me or knows the car. I just know I couldn't get out there before the auction ends next Saturday. Here is the link to the auction.

Edit: I wonder why the link doesn't work?

Based on the pictures, I would question the structural integrity of the rear spring hangers. There are some older patches there prior to the current ones, and you can see rust perforations on the inside where the shock bracket is welded to the axle "hump".

C'mon John, put yer nose to the grindstone and make yours solid then there is no doubt what you are building upon.

Good point Trevor. I have almost all the metal and panels to repair mine. It is just stalled right now, as I'm so busy with work and family. I just keep thinking I could spend a few grand on this one and be way ahead. But as you said, I don't know the quality of the work.

John,

Kingston is a town next to me. Is the car in Kingston or South Boston?

The ebay ad says Kingston, MA. It looks like it's close to Plymouth.

I'm not sure why the ebay link doesn't work but it's auction #300277738236

The guys number is 617-620-1366

If you could check it out that would be GREAT!

I just wanted to send a big public shout out to Chris who went and checked this car out for me. Sounds like in addition to sheetmetal in the floors, lots of other corners were cut and the car has plenty of filler.

Chris just saved me alot of money and agravation! Thanks man!

This forum rocks!
