Hi Johnny, is the license plate on the red Healey correctly mounted? I saw one mounted that way on a 67. When did they start mounting them there?

Anyway, two beautiful cars.
Cheers,
Roger
Very observant of you Roger. The red BJ7 is a European spec car requiring among other things the license plate mounted as such.

Nope that is US spec licens plate holder not European. I am notsure when the change was introduced --Keoke

Sorry to disagree Keoke, but in "Original Austin Healey" page 82 Mr. Clausager states that as early as 1961 exported cars had variations in the license plate bracket to accomodate various sizes of plates. Also, on page 85 change number B. 79900 Feb 1966 "Modified number plate bracket on North American cars". Meaning the license plate bracket that was used earlier on exported cars was added to all North American cars beginning in Feb 1966.
