What do you guys do with your windsheild supports?

The supports for the windsheild frame on Sandy's 59 Bugeye appear to be magnesium... I started buffing them out as they are a dirty, nasty, grey color. They really don't even buff all that well. Do you guys just leave these in the ode de natual 'el finish?

I thought about having them plated or power coated.

Re: What do you guys do with your windsh supports?

Your supports are aluminum. Start with some coarse sandpaper and work to fine, then you can buff/grind on them with some abrasive compound on a buffing wheel and they will polish up. The original finish was clear anodized over a polished surface.

To get the old anadozing off, use Easy Off Oven Cleaner.

Take them to your favorite Harley customizing shop and pretend they are a motorcycle part. They'll crome them and boy do they look nice.
