:frown: We have a local club of LBC's. The acronym is EMBCCiles - I know it sounds like imbeciles and wouldn't really be a bad monicker. Our club has no dues, no meetings, one pres but that was because he wasn't at our first meeting and in light of the fact that he missed today's outing, he is now President For Life. This is our only officer.

Anyway we scheduled a trip to Mountainair, tiny town about 70 miles away. I intended on taking the Healey but winds were gusting to 60 mph and the temp was in the 50's and Agatha refused to leave her toasty garage. If the truth be known, I did whimp out. I opted to drive with hubby in Onslow. One Healey owner arrived with his spouse who didn't seem particularly enamored with the whole thing. I/we suggested he return home and take a more suitable car - he did and came back with a really nice Zcar and a much happier spouse. The motley crew consisted of 2 Mini's, 1 Jag, 1 MGA, 1 Italian car (FIAT) and 2 other Japanese cars.

In spite of bearly being in the majority our LBC club and our LBC's along with we whimps enjoyed a great day.

Beautiful but windy and cool day here.

Did some fuel system tweaking on the ol' Mercedes, then started it up and listened to the engine for a while. Great sound.

Then made a "sun visor extender" for my Nissan. Seems that no matter where I drive these days, the sun is always just beyond the sun visor at the driver side window. Dern cataracts ...

I've been doing battle with a heron and so far it's winning. It's eaten around 250 to 300 bucks worth of koi today. If it keeps coming back I'm going to borrow a friends hot wire setup with the picture of the dead upside down flaming cow on the control box.

Last time you did this "looking" stuff, Tunebug got displaced. Now you're gonna displace the B?

Replaced the intermediate exhaust pipe on the pickup and plugged a hole from a nail in the left rear tire. Then pulled out the VW, set the timing and base idle. found the dead short in the backup light circuit, fixed the bad ground on the RF turn signal, replaced the wiper inserts, put the rear seat back in, cleaned up the windows, and took it to get inspected.
Back home with a sticker I sewed up the giant hole in the drivers seat and took the clock out of the dash, took it to my workbench, tore it apart and fixed it. Gotta get some silver paint to re spray the rusty insert around the gauge before it goes all back together.

Usually backup light issues on VW's is the power to said lights FROM the hot side of the coil is some moron connected the power to the points side which grounds out the points when you select reverse and it just dies.

HAHAHAHA! I could see that. It does in fact hook to the hot side of the coil. But the issue I had was someone getting terminals mixed up behind the RH tail light. I found the back-up light wire hooked to the ground terminal, and vice-versa.
Most of what I've found on this car has been DPO mistakes. I think Tinsters old neighbor "Pedro" had been here.

Nope, it's the daily driver Honda that's due to be displaced.

I put a heater core in an XJS, along with some other minor repairs...Maybe tomorrow the pistons and jugs will go on the corvair motor

I went down to Santa Rosa,CA,& ACTUALLY bought another truck just-
to get Billy off of my back.
Also visited an "Old Friend",& watched their pet frogs eat crickets-
does life get any better than this?

Raked leaves.

Thought about driving the MGB to my daughter's house (2+ hours each way) but elected to take the Miata (OK....I whimped out, but I did have the top down the entire way).

Held my 5 day-old grand daughter for 2 hours while her big sister (3.5 years old), slept leaning against me........while watching college football with my son-in-law.

I have a sinus infection today (typical for me this time of year) so Linda is making a big pot of chicken noodle soup.

I love that Land Cruiser. I'm a Fit Fan but that thing is the bee's knees!
And that Type 3 should make an excellent Winter car up there in Schuyler County. Just be sure to bring a blanket. They're very good in most respects, but not the warmest car.
We abandoned the idea of koi (due to birds) and our pond now has some very nice, low-maintenance frogs. They just started hibernating and will be back next Spring.
