What did Santa bring you this year?

Make him a mobile. Bits and pieces from the shop. A couple spark plugs other odds and ends.

Would be pretty funny for a baby shower gift...

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif When I was awaiting the arrival of my first neice/nephew (didn't know which, because the parents wanted to be suprised), I made up a set of flashcards. They were mostly shop tools, like a Saw, Hammer, Box Wrench, Router Bit, that sort of thing. Well, my neice is 5 now, and knows more about tools than any other kid in her kindergarten class! She's even built herself (and her dolls) a couple of things. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif I say go for it, Tony! They're never too young!

...oh, and congratulations!

I got a new MIG welder...now for my birthday, I need a new panel box and a terminal sub-box for 140 amps /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I received the best MG gift this Christmas...

My wife gave me seven love letters. Now your saying to yourself that's great but it doesn't have anything to do with an MG gift. Ah, but it does, one of the letters was a rememberance of how we meet in college. I'd forgotten this episode in our life but she brought it all back to me. I had a 1969 MGC at the time and she saw the car one day parked behind the college theater, She asked around regarding who's "cute" sports car was parked behind the theatre. At the time we were working on a childrens play, she was the star and I was the set designer (I was shy and didn't talk to the cast much) so, she used the car as a ploy of getting to know me a little better. She asked me if she could have a ride in my car. Of course I agreed. We had a great time on our drive through the hills of Northern California. I fell in love with her right there and then.

Twenty-five years later we are still as much in love as we were then. Now I'm working on rebuilding a MGB (C's are too expensive). When it's all done I'm going to take her on a drive just like we did all those years ago.

I guess you could say that if I hadn't had my MG then I may never have had that wonderful memory and my wonderful wife. Remembering that time in our life; the car, the play, that wonderful ride together is the best Christmas present I have ever received.

While not exactly MG related, I got a left rear quarter panel for the MKI Sprite I'm rebuilding.

22 hours of overtime. I hope to translate that into some K&N filters and seatbelts.

TR2 key fob, pin, and a Lucas "prince of darkness" pin, the "how to restore a TR2,3,3a" book, oh yea and a Union Jack bandanna (see "holiday pictures" thread in the pub).
Ok it's all "rumphy" stuff, but the Triumph forum is all "nuts and bolts" threads right now..zzzzzzzzz. I work on a lot of MGs does that count? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

An MG key chain and two rubber plugs for the "jack holes" in the sills (hopes that makes sense..)
Thanks Newkie! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Car related: MGB Battery box liner, another set of Chrome MGB trim rings, MC rebuild kit(MGB), 6 model cars, Canadian tire GC....Try explaining to everyone why theres a "garbage bin"(MGB Battery box liner) under your tree.

Bench vise, 4 1/2" grinder, Bearing puller set, new guitar, and a big screen TV. The latter two are for filling the time gaps when I'm waiting for new parts to be shipped...lol. Also got an order in for new wheel bearing kits, front and rear. Should be a lot of fun.

Ole Sandy Claws gave me some coal, guess I was a lil naughty last year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif
Wifey gave me a case of Micholob Christmas beers /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gifVery thoughtful of the ol gal /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif

Got a lot of neat stuff but about the only thing I can use in the Garage is a new Craftsman mechanics 190 pc tool set with those (Old F@rt) “Easy to Read” sockets. Not that I really needed new tools but it comes in a handy carrying case for those trips to the junk yard for parts or those club tech sessions.

Craftsman 190 pc. Mechanics tool set with "Easy-To-Read" Sockets

But I really do like the Easy to Read sockets. Much better than hunting for my spectacles under the car so I can read the side of the sockets.

(Sigh!)Yeh I know - I'm getting old! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

a nice tool box (bigger than the one I've been using) to put in the boot of my MG.. and a leather jacket to wear while drivingon those chilly 60F days /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

oh and Power Tuning MGB 4 Cylinder Engines /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

THERE you are!!! Glad to see ya made it home safe 'n sound.

You're gonna be inspired to find a "spare" MGB engine now, ain't ya?! WOOOHOOO!!!

maybe not an entire engine... but i DO have inspiration for getting a Peter Burgess tuned head... after finding that he has a site and sells tuned heads "off the shelf" I'm even more tempted (Peter Burgess)... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My daughter brought me a Jeff Gordon tool box. About 4"X4". Three drawers that work and a cool paint job. Goes on my desk for days I can't get into the garage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cowboy.gif

A new floor jack and jack stands...and a pair of ratchet handles (3/8" and 1/4") with extensions.

Schroth HANS belts, pull type AFFF extinguisher & magnacore wires for the Pinto. Plus the collective works of Carroll Smith.
I guess Santa thinks I'm gonna spend some time in the weeds this year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

HeeheeeHaahaa!!! "weeds"...

The C. Smith books are GREAT!

"If one would twist nuts, one must have nut twisters..." !!!!

Everything from good tool etiquette to suspension tweaking and beyond. Congrats! Wonderful present!
