What color were the Parts?

Most everyone paints the suspension, springs, differential and other such parts black. What parts were painted in the body color? Reason I ask is I was cleaning the rear axel today and came across red paint, which I believe was the origional color of at least half of my bugeye 46 years ago. The red has made me curious...

Naa. If it is suspension it is black. Differential as well as drive shaft and fuel tank and rear bumper mounts to be complete in the rear.

Not on a Bugeye.

Heh, I had mine all polished up then painted it. Did the same with the transmission, painted it the same as the engine. Think you will find this is considered correct. However, to each his own.

Im not sure what is correct but my transmission has whats left of traces of sprite motor green paint on it, of course this is the same car that had a red rear end.
So did the factor use a flat black or simi gloss ? I doubt that they would have used gloss.
Jack your sprite looks outstanding!

Gloss black for all, powder coat works well or rust o lum from ACE is the place.

Moss has the engine paint in spray cans.

Thanks on Miss Agatha, check again. Engine in this morning.
