I have a solid color Healey blue BJ8. Getting ready for a better paint job, Healey blue and Old English White. The 1" bottom edge in the back of the car was painted black. Is that correct? When I get the coves painted white, do the 1" edges on the very bottom of the left and right sides also get painted black, or white? Thank you, Roger

Roger, The entire body shell is painted the corrosponding body color.---Keoke
Yes BJ7, that is correct only for the rear shroud Iwas thinking about the entire bottom lip.---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Steve, I agree,
The Anderson - Moment book states that on all cars up to the BJ7, BJ8:
"The lower lip of the rear shroud was brush-painted satin black over the body color, generally on all but black cars, probably to make the lower shroud lip less noticeable."

On the BJ7, BJ8, it states "The lower rear lip of the shroud continued to be hand-painted black on all colors except black."

For your second question, the 1" flanges on the sides stay the cove color ... white in your case. Also brush painted black is the X frame that you can see through the front grille.

Cheers,
John

Right on guys. Thank you. And John, thanks for sharing that the X frame gets painted black too. Roger, that.
