What classes?

I am thinking about doing some parking lot racing. What classes and sanctioning organizations are Sprigets competitive? What about MGBGT's?

My rule book is a little old, and I don't have it with me in Ak, but I would guess that in the SCCA you would be H Stock, or F Street Prepared. I doubt that those cars would be competitive in either class, but so what. Its a lot of fun. H Stock is the slowest class, I think new Mini non supercharged are currently the fastest thing in it, so... I run my '68 Ford Cortina 4 door in F Street Prepared. The golf's etc. kick mu butt.

Since you refer to "parking lot races", I'd guess you mean autocross or Solo 2.

Here the SCCA Solo 2 rulebook.

Many local (non SCCA) clubs will classify you when you show up. For th first few times, I wouldn't worry about what class they stick you in....just show up and give it a go. Later, if you feel you are put in an unfair class, you can always petition the officials (a common situation).

Yea......Don't put yerself in the "You can't win" class like I did.(AP)

The Miatas will eat yer lunch. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
