what car is it?

Welcome to the Forum, Kytt!

It seems like I've seen a picture of that car somewhere, but can't remember where. It looks like an early Ford Thunderbird that someone has customized. Either that, or a concept car from the 1950's. I'm sure others will have a guess.

And don't worry about your English - some of us aren't very good at it, either!

Yeah, that'd be my guess, some type of one off or show concept car. Those certainly look like T-bird tailights, although with modified bezels possibly. Also hard to see in the photo, but that looks like a slightly modified T-bird emblem on the trunk lid. Wish we could see the front, that might be a really nice looking car. I like the retractable rear window glass.
 
I know that car...it's right on the tip of my tongue!!! ARRGH. Okay, I'll have to post again when I remember it.
 
Whoa! Well, Scott, we were off. Now that I look at it, I can see Chrysler influences.

Yep, we were way off, oh well.

I found this page with what look like several types of the same car, maybe they changed the design a few times, because the white ones don't seem to have that big retractable rear window. Anyway, interesting car, I like it. Seems Ghia had a hand in the styling.

The car pictured was featured in April 1998 Hemmings...It was the "mystery pic"...it says here that it is currently at the Blakhawk museum in California....Was built as an "idea car" for chrysler and sold to the King of Morocco in 1956!....it proved impratical for him and it was sold to an American diplomat.

That's what I was going for...I was stuck on Chrysler-Ghia, and I knew it was incorrect. I knew it was a Chrysler product!!! Dang. I can't believe I couldn't pull that one out!!!

One of the couples in our local region of the Classic Car Club of America (and friends of mine) live in an old mansion in South Seattle -- there is a garage under the house, and it has an elevator to bring cars into the house for viewing at parties. He has some wonderful British cars, including a 1930 Bentley LeMans Tourer, E-Type, 1939 Atalanta, as well as a Springfield-built '27 Rolls Royce Brewster Tourer and a supercharged Cord 812 Sportsman. If I had those cars, I'd show them in the house too!

As for my wife, a few weeks ago she strongly suggested that I sell some of the cars. The Miata (which she hated driving) and the 944 (which my mechanic friends were concerned was a time-bomb) both are gone. The '89 Corvette is next, as soon as I fix the windshield.
