Hi all.
I was wondering what kind of car has the double upside down V's on the grill, Kinda look's like a VW bug but boxier...I have seen many in movies, Am I making any sence, I have a pic just no hosting for a URL. There was a post for the Gumball 3000 elsewhare, Just currious. It was painted like the "General Lee" from "The Dukes of Hazard"
Thanks

Close enough, I think it was a Citroen CV2, Thanks for the hint /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yep, that would be the 2CV. There has also been one in the IHOP commercials for the Stuffed something or others they do.

The "Deux Chevaux" is a neat little car.

Very simple and durable. They have a wonderful touring car series for 2CVs in the UK (and also a 24 hour endurace race). Citroen even made a twin engine version for safari use.

By the way, the upside-sown "Vs" on Citroens represent a herringbone gear. Andre Citroen began his manufacturing business making "silent" herringbone gears (I just finished a nice book about Mr. Citroen).

If memory serves, didn't Richard Dryfus drive one of those in "American Grafitti"?

Yep, and so did Roger Moore and Carole Bouquet in "For Your Eyes Only." Great chase scene through the trees!

Great little car, built loike a sardine can , but I think one made it all the way in a Brighton to Dakkar rally featuring cars under 500 pound (as in sterling. If I recall it was covered in Practical Classics.

Ah yes, I remember that now! Didn't the car flip a few times and they just got out and pushed it back over and went on their way?

Neat little car.
