What can I expect from a header on my 78 MG Midget

Hello to all my fellow MG addicts. Well, I originally had a post that asked a question about the need to rejet the Weber downdraft carb and most of the responses were aiming toward the issue of an air leak. After much frustration not able to get my new Weber DGV conversion to work on my 78 MG Midget 1500, I took it to the local MG mechanic everyone recommended. He's had the car for about 2 weeks and it has been nothing but problems from the beginning. By the time he pulled it into the garage to work on it a wire on the coil desided to dig a hole and die so he had to pin point and fix that before even touching the carb. Finally he got to the carb and sure as ever he found an air leak under the intake manifold. So all the work I did taking the old off and putting the new on went out the window. Honestly, I had a hard time getting the old off so a local mechanic I flipped a few bucks to came over and got it off with his special tools. He got it off so fast I had him put the new back on with a new gasket. He apparently didnt do to good of a job. I took over from there and put the carb on and ran all the linkage and hoses. The mechanic next found a crack along the top of the exhaust manifold. He is going to put a header on since now is the time to do it with everything torn apart. What can I expect (if anything) from the header from Moss when it comes to performance / gas mileage? Im pretty sure with the new header and the Weber DGV back on it will run great. The only problem is my wallet will be a lot thinner then I planned. Now, as long as she runs for a while I'll be happy.

-----Not much on a stock engine, except as you say your wallet will be a lot thinner.---Keoke-

As Keoke said, but swapping in a header might lean the mixture a bit, so be sure to double-check.

I noticed a increase in performance installing a Pacesetter on my 74 1275 around the 3k RPM mark but not much else.
