What are you working on today?

I finally got granted a garage day by the family.

So today I'm trying to get the power steering system reinstalled and the brakes gone over in my TR8.

Of course, now that I'm out here, I'm procrastinating.

What are you working on today?

I'm shoveling 5 cu yards of mulch around the shrubs in my yard (taking a break.....my back ain't what it used to be). And also cutting away a bunch of dead or crossing tree limbs.

Later, Linda's twin and her niece are coming here to play Scrabble.

I hate board games, so I'll be heading out to our summer cabin to work on a Spridget I have stored there.

I bought it as a parts car for the 1275 engine (to be used in my Austin racer), but it's in surprisingly decent shape, so once the "big" motor is out of it, I'll drop in my spare 948 and keep it as a very basic "runner".

Just off to measure for jamb extensions on an 8 ' patio slider I am installing. Then back to the shop to rip and paint , Then lunch and back to the seemingly never ending work on my bt7 chassis that I must paint this coming week.

Watching the #occupywallstreet feeds. Going to put up a temporary light in the new addition later

Soccer with my boy, grocery shopping then ,hopefully a little pedal/throttle work on the 6

Cramming for an interview on Mon. Interview is with the company I currently work for, but I heard about a position that opened up that I could not let pass. So, I'm refreshing my Perl programing skills that I haven't used in the past couple of years.

May take a break after a bit to mow some lawn ... and to watch the Gators play... or I may just let that play in the background while I cram; depends how good the game turns out to be

Have three soccer games to ref... all three are centers. Just did two and have my last one in about three hours.
Shoes off and in the prone position until the next game!
Don- Treat the ref nice

Just finished getting the top pieces for my MGB ready to be fitted -- going into the shop to have that done on Monday. Waiting to get the call from the shipper who's on his way to pick up my Bugeye for shipping off to the new owner.

I'm about to head off to walk over to my storage unit to drive the MGB back here. A couple mile walk, good to stretch the legs. This is my first weekend truly off (no gigs or other commitments) in months so I'm soaking up as much loafing time as possible.

Gotta take the Dot to a birthday party, then the wife and I are gonna go wander around Watkins Glen for a bit. Maybe get a sandwich, and have dinner on my parents sailboat.
Hopefully tonight I'm gonna stop in at Tractor Supply and get my parts washer.

Elliott, didn't say a word except thanks as we were walking out.
Was tempting to say something to one of the other coaches though. Second half he crossed of the mid line and coached from our side down by the 18

Gassed up the Healey, didn't a little spiffing up and took her for a spin where I tagged a Porche for about 3 miles on our nice up/down hill curving Route 66. He stopped abruptly and motioned for me to pull over. I did and thought I hope this isn't a cop in disguise. Wasn't. He just wanted to admire Agatha and take some photos. Turns out he's a car enthusiast and has a website called karkix.com. Interesting.
Also brought a friend some frozen meals I made as she is recovering from surgery. Had a coffee at the local coffee shop and finally arrived home. Now to take mom-in-law to church and continue on to Goodwill for a few drop-off items and the cleaners and return to take mom-in-law home. That would be it.

Tomorrow is the State Fair and the show for classic cars. It's a great, no trophy, just enjoy show!

Enjoy your weekend folks.

That's B A D... the AR should have taken care of that and if he couldn't then the Center.
My ears were burning all the way in PA :jester:

Had a workshop to lead this am and part of the pm. then home for a quick snooze and preparing Ms Triss for British Car Day at Bronte tomorrow - biggest British show In Canada and I think North America - 1200 cars there last year.

she's washed and polished and vacuumed and has her new 50th grille badge on - ready and rarin' to go (Oh and washed SWMBO's car and a quick polish - and adjusted the window washers (after 9 years) )

Haven't had the Jag out for two days....been driving the Ugly Trucling. Ops Session last night, ran trains until 2100, club meet today, now I'm working on a radio upgrade in a K-27 (if that don't make you scratch your head, nothing will).
Think I'll run down and get a can of petrol for the 50 Tudor.......electric pump sucking air.
Then, a nap.

As in steam locomotive, I'd guess? I'll assume these are models and not the real thing. Is it live steam?

I'm not really into trains, but I have a good friend who's in a speeder club and a nephew who is heavily involved in his local model train club. Also, my Dad worked for Canadian National and British Railways. We have many walking trails in our area (Andover, NJ) that are the remnants of narrow-gauge tracks built over 150 years ago.

Sunny and mid 60s, so ...

Bomb the ground hog tunnel. I think the critter will just hide down there 'til the smoke clears, then dig out the opening again and toss the remains of the smoke bomb back out. Tough little bugger.

Scythe grass around the brambles. Didn't produce well this year. May have to replace them all.

Weed around the vine crops (boston marrow, pie pumpkin, canada crookneck, cushaw). Remove any rotted turnip and rutabaga; virus hit again this year.

Manure tea on the cabbage and second planting of beet. Onion tea on the winter radish - flea beetles are back.

Devour apple/pear pie made by the ladies in the bake oven.

We're not gardeners, so we think the ground hogs are cute (we did have to change some flowers because she kept eating them). We also have lots of deer, rabbits and a large bull frog that lives in our coy pond.

We have an old apple tree that we don't spray. The deer and ground hog are always waiting under it for something to drop. Here's our hog eating an apple.

Yea... Groundhogs, or "woodchucks" as we call 'em round here are real cute, till they undermine the foundation of your buildings, or put in a nice big ankle-buster trap in the tall grass.
Farmers hate em for eating crops, damaging barns and breaking livestocks' legs with their holes.A Chuck hole will do a number on Jeep suspension too.
