What are you listening to, September 2023 edition

Several days ago the YouTube algo offered me Jefferson Airplane on American Bandstand in June 1967. Wondered off and on what Airplane songs might be dance music. Finally, I had to listen. Bandstand apparently had no answer to my question either. Their selections were White Rabbit and Somebody to Love. In interview, Dick Clark characterized the music with various words for unusual and alarming and asked Paul Kantner(?) if parents should be worried. Paul said "I think so.".

New Year's eve 1978, dusk to dawn. This was the final concert at Winterland before the Ballroom was closed forever. The Dead provided a free buffet breakfast for everyone who made it through the night.

The Greatful Dead, three extended sets.
The Blues Brothers Band and Revue with original movie back up musicians.
Midnight countdown by Dan Aykroyd.
New Riders of the Purple Sage

For me this month it's SIX the musical. My daughter has just auditioned and been cast as Jane Seymour. That is now four shows she is working on Eponine In les miserables November Six in February. Morticia in Adams family in April. All large productions. And a school production of Back to the 80's

I bet the Adams family will be a blast to work on.

Happened on Jamey Johnson playing in 2 different places yesterday (Should Have Seen It In Color both times) and on Leonard Cohen Hallelujiah the day before. Hard to get decently crafted lyrics these days except in Country (and not so often there).
