What are you listening to right now? [Music fans get in here!]

I saw Jake Shimabakuru last summer in concert. He puts on some show. If you haven't caught him, check him out. He was headed for CA after his gig in Norwalk last summer.

My daughter - by day an elementary school teacher - is by night a jazz singer. She's had some good gigs with top NY musicians at places like the Hotel Kitano at 39th and Park. Her singing name is now Ellynne Rey. Check out her website. Cds are available.

Wow - Karen Gruber and Ellynne Rey. I'd never have known those names (and their music) if I hadn't read them here. Bravo to both - really excellent jazz sounds.

Ellynne: Make someone happy
Karen: The very thought of you

Thanks!

Fields of Athenry and Belfast by the Shamrocks
and also Barmbrack (the group)

When I was in Huntsville on business a few years back, Marvin invited my to a club where Karen was singing in a nearby town. Drug the whole crew I was with along and it was a great time!

What I'm listening to right now is BB King at a live concert he did in Africa (I have a Qello subscription). I love watching him play!

DITTO! :encouragement:

When we were kids I taught a buddy of mine how to play guitar and we still talk incessantly about guitars (he ended up getting much better than me).
Eventually, carpal tunnel forced him to stop but he can still play the Irish Harp (he has 6 of them).

Anyway, he's in London right now on business and he just went to a concert to see Gary Ryan at the Wanamaker Theatre at the Globe. The Wanamaker is an indoor Jacobean theatre that's lit only with candles.

He told me I have to watch this video.
