In honor of the Band’s Levon Helm:

Chuck Yeager:
Hey, Ridley, you got any Beeman's?

Jack Ridley:
Yeah, I think I got me a stick.

Chuck Yeager:
Loan me some, will you? I'll pay you back later.

Jack Ridley:
Fair enough.

This, the 30th Anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden in honor of Bob Dylan's 1962 album debut.

Vince Guaraldi, Charlie Brown Chrismas. No cartoon soundtrack should swing this hard. No idea how they picked him to do the soundtrack (it was the 1960's) but it remains one of my favorite winter recordings.

That is a classic and I listen to it a lot around the holidays...another set of holiday classics that swing like they mean it are Brian Setzer's Christmas albums that feature his full big band. Brian Setzer seems more like the Glenn Miller Orchestra pushed to 11, whereas Vince Guaraldi's soundtrack is a masterpeice of just piano, bass and drums - a minimal trio with a timeless sound.
