What are these wheels? They look famillier.

Those look like AllyKats. Sold by RimmerBros. I want a set for the spit when it is ready for them.

Paul - I don't know what they are but you're correct, I have seen something similar on older Datsun Z cars...

Definatly some aftermarket things.....Little too musclely in my opinion...I had a TR6 with those on it once....Traded someone for a set of original TR6 rims, which I had to pull off the car while it sat in a feild....Herniated a disc in my back which still gets me sometimes...Left that poor TR6's frame sitting in the mud /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yup, aftermarket slotted mags. Probably made by American Racing. More easily found on early Z cars (same pattern).
Not too hard to find on eBay under Datsun.

Agreed - the logo on the cap is very familiar. I remember seeing lots of them back in the days. Had a similar set on the Datsun SRL311 I had in the early eighties.

I picked up the 2006 American Racing Wheel Collection catalogue just now from the tire shop across the street from me, and in the Vintage- hot rod, muscle car & restoration section of wheels... there is the Ansen Sprint, series No. A69 RWD.

It shows it as a five bolt wheel. I can't access Ebay from here to look at the GT I posted, but is it a four or five bolt wheel on that car?

Paul

they made them in four bolt and you could also buy them undrilled so you could drill them for anything you wanted. I once had a set of 15x7 drilled for a V8 Pinto but thats another story.

I just went over and spoke to Lou at the shop. He says that American Racing is a new company he is dealing with, as well as a company in Montreal. He said if I can get the exact bolt patern and offset for my GT, either one of them will do up one and send it for test fit.
So, what would I tell him for these specs?

Paul

I believe the bolt pattern on MGBs is 4x4.5". I may be a little off on the back spacing, but I ~think~ it should be in the neighborhood of +22mm on a wheel that's 5.5" wide.

and from personal experience, I don't think you want to have a wheel that extends too much further into the wheel well, unless you have modified your suspension to keep the rear axel better located under the car.

then again, my experience could have been mainly because of worn bushings back there in the past. I haven't checked for rubbing since replacing all the worn out crud.
