MGB-GT What Am I?

I was looking through the "Standard Catalog of Imported Cars 1946-2002". I see this picture identified as a 1966 MGB Sports Coupe.  The top is not B-GT. Factory prototype? Limited production specialist fiberglass add on top like they did back in the day?

I think you are an MGB with an Ashley fastback hardtop. GT's weren't made until 1965 so if you wanted a hardtop GT you would have needed to adapt.

Thanks John Peter, looks nice.

You are quite welcome - I really like the Ashley components, some of the nicest proportioned. Most (all?) of their product is for Spridgets these days and the Spridget fastback is to my eyes even prettier than the MGB fastback

I tried to find one of these about 10 years ago but had no success. At the time I never heard of Ashley. PJ

That is not an Ashley Hardtop. That is a Coune Berlinette...a limited production fixed head MGB from Jacques Coune that preceded the MGB GT. Note how much further the headlamps are recessed into the wings than the stock MGB. Click the image to see a larger photo...

I stand corrected - that is a very pretty car!
