What a fun evening with Bugsy IV

Oh what great fun this evening. My friend Kate suggested let's go find some twisty back roads after dinner in Bugsy. I do indeed know of a few fabulous up and down twisty and turny roads along the Little Miami River not far from my house in the Dayton, OH suburbs. These are no real traffic, residential and farm roads. I got to play in Bugsy exploring suspension limits with some very aggressive driving. Bugsy did not miss a beat. Suspension and Brakes were fabulous and I really would have gone a lot faster had I been doing this by myself. But Bugsy truly has go cart point and go handling with new suspension, front sway bar, shocks, bushings all around and an upgrade to front discs and later rear brakes. all I'm missing now is the 5 speed and extra 378 cc's of British Fury under the bonnet. Coming soon this Fall before it gets too late to drive at the end of the season. I know I need to push on and keep on schedule but he is so dam_ fun to drive. Folks if you've never driven your Spridget with upgraded suspension front and rear you have no ideal how good it really can be, I'm still chuffed about the drive I took tonight. Man was it ever fun.:highly_amused: :highly_amused::highly_amused:

sounds fantastic!

New SpeedHut Gauges for Speedo and Tach will be complete this weekend. No longer driving without any feedback from Speedo and Tach. GPS Speedo solves the Speedo issue when going to a 5 Speed, and Speedhut Tach solves the issue of upgrading to an alternator and losing the Cable Drive. Plus my Tach is a Jaeger not a Smiths and I have no clue what it is from. Works good though if anyone needs a Cable Driven Jaeger Tach.

Next step is getting the new Engine mated to the 210 Tranny. Need to do some major mods to the tranny to get it to fit without destroying the battery shelf, but Gerard's Instructions cover it all. Arriving on Monday will be Gerard's Short Shift Kit, Rear Seal Kit, and a new Spridget Slave. Need to move over the HS-2 Carbs, install new Alternator from BPNW which comes in a Lucas Generator Case, and new Gear Reduction Starter. Since the 948 is working to provide Bugsy with a very effective Self Lubricating Chassis Feature I need to get that engine out of there as soon as I can. I've driven Bill Mayer's BUGI with a similar setup as I will be ending up with and I can't wait for the added power. I was told the engine did not leak a drop on the Test Stand but add a tranny and driveline to it, and all sorts of things can happen hence adding Gerard's Rear Seal Kit before this engine gets dropped into Bugsy. Plan is to install, test Fit everything and go drive and finish breaking in the engine before he gets taken apart for paint when it gets too cold and the salt goes down in late November / early December. But this time only pulling apart Major Subassemblies. One the rotisserie to fix boot floor, new panel needed, undercoat with OEW color matching undercoat, and then off to paint shop for Paint over the winter. Spring reassembly with new Wiring Harness, new Interior and Carpets, and then go drive. That's the plan - now to see if I can carry it out in a timely fashion.
