Hi Gents:

For the first time, I decided to stay in and have a quiet New Years Eve. I woke up on the first feeling great and ready to work on the Midget. Fired up the small garage heater and enjoyed a cup of joe whilst catching up on some email.

I then got both vertical rails cut--thanks God there was a mention on this forum about the frame rails tilting up for caster purposes. Anyway, I got all my steel cleaned and clamped into the vice. Sharpened a couple tungstens, set the machine up and went to turn on the gas...only WTF? I left the gas on all holiday! A FULL TANK! So there was to be no welding at all. The frustrating thing is that I have no one to blame but myself. It's not like the kids were out screwing around with the argon.

After an hour of being bored, I decide to just to use the MIG. I tell my wife the plan and she scolds me for taking short cuts on her project car.

So I went to the mall :frown:

Progress to resume this weekend. As a mild distraction, I got all my cafe racer parts back from powdercoat, and the bike is calling my name as well.

I can relate.
and while we are on the subject, why does argon always run out on the weekend when the supply house is closed?

It's one of Newton's Unwritten Laws.

...it happens the same with propane for the gas grill, BTW.
