Well noone seems to have started the anniversary thread so here goes. Got to Ludington last nite as per a previous post, met Jer and Nelson and spouses. Big thunderstorm blew throughthough Ms Triss was under the hotel awning and stayed dry. Got up to six Spridgets on the ferry, and a convoy to EL. Jer led us through evry country curved road in the state to get here. And so we are. Resorts are lovely though infested with Spridgets already. All in all a great beginning - though really hot! BTW i can't post pics so others will need to. We miss those what ain't here!

And the pictures are where???

Best wishes to all you folks at the Spridget 50th!

Last Sunday (July 17), we held the ~Donna Mae Mims~ Spridget race in honour of the late Ms. Mims and her famous pink, racing Bugeye.
(along with the fact that it's the 50th anniversary for Spridgets)

~Click Here~ to see some photos and a video of what we've been doing with our Spridgets.

Last week the PVGP races were held at a local sports car track (BeaveRun). Right now we're hanging out in Pittsburgh with a gang of racing friends. Next week, they're closing down the public roads in the local city park and we're racing through them with about 50,000 people watching. I ran my tow van through 5 laps of the course yesterday....awesome. More photos to follow.

We made it at last at about 9:30pm last night.
My son Peter and I started out last Friday, averaging a little more than 500 miles per day.
The Frogeye Midget ran great, while driving safe and sane around 60 mph it got great mileage.
From 37 mpg to 40 mpg.
When driving a 'bit' more spirited it dropped below 30 mpg.
Like one time yesterday when we had to pull off for a "Dad we have to stop - NOW" break.
I pulled off onto an exit that had no onramp back onto the freeway.
The emergency dealt with then the question was - how to get back on the road?
Peter suggested "you can back up".
So we did and then had to drive a bit more spirited than usual to catch up to the other cars.
We were traveling with BillM, Kurt & Nancy A. and MikeB.
I'm not saying how fast we went, but it wasn't faster than I felt safe per the road conditions.
After checking in to the Victorian Village we went over to the Lake Street Cafe and had dinner, I had a local brew and Peter had Root Beer on tap from the same brewery. We met PeterC and Dave Lieb and several others there, and sitting at a long table right up front talking LBC smack with the guys was the perfect end to the day. It was GREAT!
