I erroneously reported that this good old "Rolls Royce" stuff dries up over a year's period after first use. I just found my partially used tube from 9 years ago, and it seems fine. HUGE QUESTION: DARE I USE IT ON MY FIGURE 8 SLEEVE GASKETS, OR JUST BUY A NEW TUBE? STILL OK AFTER 10 YEARS?

I've no idea what happens to he stuff over time but I have used Aviation Permatex of unknown age (old) with no ill effects. While the FO8s are critical, I've never had them leak. A new pot of the stuff might allow better sleeping but I don't think it's necessary. Of course their tech bulletin say 3 years unopened. https://www.silmid.com/MetaFiles/Silmid/dd/dd32503e-b0fe-4d95-a2fd-673a7253f764.pdf
The question was posed on a motorcycle forum of a can that was 40 years old and still seemed fine. No answer there either.
