So I started doing some inspection of the lower body condition on the MGC today and, while I'm not out of the woods yet, I was pretty surprised to see that most of the bubbling wasn't too bad under the paint.

Kind of hard to see since the camera struggled with the white paint vs metal;

As expected the door and driver's side dog leg are in bad shape;

The rest of the metal is actually better than expected;

Don't keep doing that unless you're ready to strip & redo the entire body! Rattle can primer doesn't stop rust nor does it protect the arear you just opened! They were better off before you opened them up.....looks like you've (possibly inadvertently) put it further towards the top of your list....you've gotta fix all that stuff now & at least get 2-part epoxy primer on it.

Oh, remember: MG's rust from the inside out - it is gonna look worse once you get those panels off! But, still a good project - nothing too bad, yet.

Hi Tony - agreed. I use a rust converter and then ZeroRust as a sealer on anything I take down to metal. It works like an epoxy primer.
