I just glued my brand new MG emblem onto the plinth in the grill with 3m emblem adhesive. It looked good, for a few moments until I realized that the adhesive is eating the colors inside the emblem. now it looks like Hades. just ruined a 12 dollar emblem, aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! Time for a brew.

Think I might try some of that foam double sided tape stuff.

RTV - the black stuff.

Hah! I'm not the only one that didn't read this instructions. I made the same mistake.

I feel better now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

After careful consideration I used construction adhesive and it worked excellently.

Not possible in this case. This is gluing the emblem into a plinth.

Black RTV has worked nicely for me on several.
It takes a little set up time, but holds well.

Yeah, like Liquid Nails only I think it was the other brand. I think they are pretty much all the same. Just for clarity, I used it on the emblem to plinth on my mom's Midget with the old vertical bar grill and I think I also used it on the MG emblem on the old style three spoke wheel. In both places, there was no problems. It seems like black RTV might do as well or even an adhesive caulk. It goes without saying, though I'll say it anyways, that whatever you use, it needs to have a low-alcohol, low-solvent content. After that, I just looked around the garage to see what fit that description. Good luck for the second go.
