Well, I got them out but removing old/seized/rusted bushings (#2 below) takes the #1 spot on jobs I really don't want to again.

The driver side came out after some pounding after being liberally sprayed with PBlaster last week but the passenger side wasn’t having any of that. So after lots of pounding, several bruised fingers I decided to cut it out. One side was easy but the outside bit was awful. The bush had frozen right up against the mounting point, so I could not just cut it. Do I had to pound the leaf spring over and gradually cut it away. Three hours + of laying on my back under the car, and I had one cutting disk seize and start to break up which was a scary thing.

Anyway, it is done but man was that a drag.
 
Sounds like a nasty job, but glad you got it sorted. It always amazes me how something that looks simple to take care of can eat away hours of your time.
