Even though it's a bike, thought I'd post this here for your perusal:

Interesting. Not really a Lotus though is it, just has a Lotus sticker slapped on it.

Well, even Chapman used "OPP" (Other Peoples Parts) to start with. Austin Sevens (to finally come up with the Lotus 7--Coventry Climax engines). The Elans had Ford Kent blocks with a Costin/Duckworth designed T/C head, The Europa was introduced with Renault engines. It's not so much about who made the bits, rather how the entire "package" turns out. Chapman had the ability to assemble 'em to be quick and efficient, this Group Lotus bunch are still trying to sort it.

B.T.W: ACBC's ideal racing car was one which would cross the finish in the lead then promptly self-destruct.

Doc, while what you say is true about Chapman, he did design the cars and they were assembled by Lotus. The article here makes it sound like the bike is completely built by two German firms and then has a Lotus badge slapped on it, from the article: 'according to Lotus' most recent press release, the C-01 bike "is not designed, engineered or produced by Group Lotus" at all.'
