Small set back today along with a bit of progress.

Machine shop called and said my .040 over pistons were not big enough. Gesh.

So Tony is sourceing me a set of .060 overs.

Had a thought as well, so went to garage and looked at the top of the pistons in the other engine. Hmmm, they seem to be standard right from the factory ones. Only marking is MOGARD or what ever, a part number and the cyl. number.

So guess I well load that up and drag it down to the shop and see what my guy says about .030 overs in it. Now thats the engine I could not get the front nut off and I have not touched it because of my back. So we will see tomorrow. Have a very large breaker bar now. Drain the oil, pull the pan, block the crank and go for it, I hope.

Worst case I supose is I have an extra set of .030 pistons for the second engine that I plan to build after this Bugeye is complete. Would like to have an engine and tranny set up and ready to go. But that will be a few years away yet I am sure. Lets see, oversize pistons, mild cam, late model head ported, full balance job, lightened fly wheel, over size carbs, H2 .......... oh boy. Hehe.

Wife never turned a hair, she nice folks and watches daily.

Hmm, will keep and eye out for a 12G295 head for future consumption.

Jack - you've got a PM!!

Tony, you have one as well.

Hehe, he found my .060 over pistons, guess I will have a 998 cc sprite.

Machine shop very releaved. Will be in Fort Walton tomorrow and pick up the .040 pistons and mail to you Tony.

Thanks ever so much.

Np PM from you, Jack...I'll get the .60 pistons on the way..
