...finally. Got the engine bay painted Saturday, engine & 5 speed installed today. Hope to be running next weekend.

Yep - gonna paint black, maybe some stripes, and no bumpers. I've been following what some of the other BCF members are doing and I like the look. Want to get it running, haven't had it on the road since last fall, got all winter to bo repairs and paint (and tear the BGT apart and work on son's Mustang).

What type?
Looks like a pretty reasonable fit. Can the shifter housing be shortened?

I've seen that conversion with a shortened shifter housing, but I do not know how difficult it would be.

Ford T9 gearbox. Don't know about shorting the housing but sure gonna shorten the shifter a wee bit. Actually is quite comfortable with shifter further back and with the fiberglass cover and new carpet piece that came with the kit should look ok.
