Weber Carb trick

In a previous thread about the fuel inlet on my weber carb being on the hot side of carb someone posted a photo where the Weber was turn 180 from standard.
Well thanks for that photo. I am in the process of doing this.

I ordered a throttle cable for a 1500 from Moss (you can not beat there service)and it works perfect for the extra length needed to wrap around carb.

Other than needing to attach a clip to hold the throtle return spring it is a pretty simple trick to do. the only thing I need to complete modification is buying a new choke cable long enough to reach around to front of carburator.and vacuum line extention

Now my Fuel line is run along the inner fender, not even close to radiator or exhaust manifold as before.

Plus another big advantage is the carb mounting bolts are alot easier to get too.

Posted this photo for future reference. the choke cable is a NAPA 60" universal.
One problem I have is that the lower blade linkage rubs the intake causing the throtle to hang slightly. I blip will settle it down.

Easy fix- remove the carb one more time and grind some if intake down so linkage doesn't rub. I tried to bend it but realize that wasn't a good thought.
