After driving 450 miles round trip, losing some of my exhaust, rubbing tires, torrential downpours with cups under the dashboard & hours of blisterringly heated traffic, I made it there and back - MG 2008. For some, 450 mile is a cake walk but prior to this thelongest I ever drove was 25 miles to a car show. It is also the first time - other than around the corner - that my wife went for a ride. We basically lived out of the car, camping out of the trunk for the past three days but we made it and with all the rain, wind, heat, bumps and bangs, we'd do it all over again!. I left about 1 year to the day after dragging the '74 B Roadster home on a trailer and it performed like a champ.

Fuel consumption was good, as were braking, OP and the OD. Even through sitting in 2 hours of NYC traffic getting there and then crossing the George Washington Brigde in a deluge of rain, lightning and thunder, in another 1 hour and 45 minute traffic jamb, she did'nt overheat (although we did).

I had a chance to see a ton of great cars and popped into Advanced Distributors and Superlight, but missed Jeff and Hap as the skies opened up and everyone ran for cover - Silly me when for a 100 mile cruise! I really would have like to meet them there.

Overall it was a great experience for my frist MG event. I've got a few pics that I'll post tomorrow as I'm just too tired tonight. Breckinridge anyone!

Glad you made it down.

I'm jealous as my MGB is still in bits as I wait for parts (piston rings) from Moss.
If I'd had these parts last week, I'd have likely driven my B down too.

Wish I could have stayed an extra day (I was really only there for about 8 hours total on Friday).

Anyway, my 270 mile (round trip) run was easy in the Miata (and I'll admit, I had the top up and the A/C on part of the time).

I don't know about Breckinridge....I'm already squeezing in 10 or 12 races weekends a year. If I was going to go that far, it would be to the Walter Mitty Vintage event or something similar. But I'm game for a Brit car show within a 250 mile radius.

I'm hoping to make it to the Positive Earth Driver's Club show at Georgian Court College (in NJ) later in the Summer.

Can your car be Negative ground in order to attend?
