Wayne Carini on Buying a Healey

Hum, o/d drops rpm from 4500 to 3000 at 60 mph? interesting. Don't care for color,like the interior color though,, cheers.
 
Looks like Spruce green, certainly not BRG. I've met and talked with Wayne at length and really a very nice, unassuming guy. Agree with some on the mail list that he could have said more positive things about buying a Healey but guess his purpose was to point out the pros and cons about owning one. He always has two or three for sale at his F40 shop in CT. Hope someday he comes across one to buy on his Chasing Classic Cars show.
 
Front badge is Mk3 with paint missing. Should be enameled anyway, not painted. Other details "different", but it's a driver, not a show car. Good to see it on a respected show. If the best feature is the sound, he should have started it up!

You're right, I missed the third "I" where the paint is missing. I think at some point on the MK III the cloisonne badge was changed to a painted one.
Late BJ8's had painted badges although there may have been some exceptions. Mine originally had a painted badge but it was replaced with a cloisonne one from a wrecked car by the PO. I still have the painted one as well as the Hex knock-offs which were removed from the same wrecked Healey. Car is from the Northeast.
and replaced with "eared knock-oofs". Steve Byers may chime in and have a vin number that the painted badges started.
