Way to check a VIN?

Hi, I am seriously considering buying an MGB. I have a midget but the MGB is such a great looking little sport car..plus my Dad had 2 of them..1973s I belive..one in red and one in that support attrocious orange..NICE! There is one for sale at about $5K and it appears to be in great shape, but I'd like to see if I can trace it back to the original color and such. Right now it is red, but maybe it came in green? blue? I also have to say that anyone with that really bright blue (was it MGB only that came in the brilliant bright blue??) is a lucky fellow! I love that color and it eye-catching and looks great on that little car all at the same time. Anyway, if anyone knows how I can trace it I'd be obliged!

best,

Lou aka Blackjokr

Colors weren't included in the MGB VIN...you can send back to England & get a certificate that tells the original color....but, I've found that if I lasy down upside down under the dash & look at the back of the radio support, I can always find the original color.
