Klepper-I'm in Toronto and have been using Precision Sportscar. They're a descent bunch of guys. They've been helping us out with our BN7. They're a great resource here. (They are also the only distributors of Moss in Canada.)

Dave, I think UPS is holding people up, I recently received some parts from a friend in Main his cost via Fed-EX to me was $7.30 I returned the stripped parts carcass to him via UPS and it cost me $12.00. Another thing about Canada I can only use a VISA Card?--Keoke

UPS has their own brokerage firm as well, so they make sure everything they ship across a border goes through brokerage. I buy a few things off ebay from the US, and if I get the seller to ship regular old US postal service instead of UPS, the item rarely get's caught up at customs. I have never tried it with Healey parts though.

I found "Precision Sportscars" in Toronto that will ship me a new pump for $188 Cdn (approx $140 US)which will take 3-4 days. It's awfully tempting....

Geo Hahn, The grease fitting can be the source of a pumps early dmise. Initially the pumps came with a grease fitting,DIY's were blowing the seals greasing them.So the big screw replaced the fitting and The DIY's went out and bought rubber noses to fit their grease guns and still blew the seals.Plus an excessive amount of grease will destroy the rubber seals in the pumps.-FWIW---Keoke

OH MY GOSH Yes! You are right. However please tell me what Qualified mechanic is going to spend his time fixing a worn out water pump for less than the price of a new one ???-Keoke

Bill Bolton will send you a rebuilt water pump and you in turn can send your old one back in exchange, etc. etc. He supposedly rebuilds them with upgraded seals. FWIW a spare water pump is one of the things that I carry with me on the road.

Update:

After talking with a few people who have very unsuccessfully tried to rebuild water pumps, I ended up ordering a new one. I ordered from "Drakes' British Motors" which is situated in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. The are an authorized Canadian distributor for Moss. They are charging me the Moss price ($98 US) plus shipping from BC. They look after all the brokerage etc with the parts crossing the border, as well as the shipping from the US. As an added bonus (for my fellow Ontario residents), there is no PST in BC, so that savings pays for the shipping from BC. Their website is:

www.drakesbritishmotors.com

I talked to Len, who was very helpful.

Final Update:

The water pump arrived last Wednesday (May 12th), so total time from ordering to my door was 15 days - not too bad for getting an item to Canada. I installed the pump on Saturday, and it worked like a charm. No more noise (except for that beautiful Healey engine noise /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif!) and no more "spray". Now the brakes.....
