Water Pump is Shot

Well, after almost 70,000 miles, my water pump finally went out this weekend! I was supposed to go to a car party, and I was getting ready to wash/detail the car when I noticed a slight dribble coming out of the bottom of the pump. Luckily I caught it before I took off on the drive! I've got a new one on order, and hopefully I'll be able to get it installed by this weekend.

Be sure to trial fit the pullet before you mount everything up to the block... on some after-market pumps a bit of grinder/dremel work needs to be done on the casting so it doesn't foul on the pulley.

I add a (fake) zerk on that boss where Standard used to put one. Easiest way is to cut the threaded bit off a 45 degree zerk and JB Weld it on there.

PULLET??? Sure, I often mount a live chicken on the front of the engine.

Dat voodoo powifful stuff mon, make engine run good.

thanks geo! anybody have any experience with the uprated higher flow pumps? i ended up going that route instead of the stock one. i really can't believe it lasted as long as it did!
